John D. Wilson

            Mr. John D. Wilson, age 88 of Peach Orchard Rd., Union, widower of Valerie Lowe Wilson, passed away, Monday, January 30, 2923 at Union Medical Center.

            Mr. Wilson was born in Union, January 23, 1935, a son of the late Joseph Monroe Wilson and Druise Koon Wilson. He worked textiles for a short time, but his love was farming. Mr. Wilson was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

            He is survived by a niece, Iva P. Dutton and husband Carl of Anderson. He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Katherine Wilson Duckett Glenn, Dorothy Lucille Wilson Duckett and Rachel Mamie Wilson Williams, a brother, Joseph “Jo” Martin Wilson, a nephew, James Edward Duckett and a cousin, reared in the home, Helen Ruth Ivey.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Dean and Rev. Andrew Austin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

            Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
