Joyce Gault Bishop

           Mrs. Joyce Gault Bishop, age 86, of 525 Lakeview Heights, Union, widow of Thomas Mulloy Bishop, passed away, Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Union Medical Center.

            Mrs. Bishop was born in Spartanburg Co., February 5, 1934, a daughter of the late Ernest W. Gault and Carrie Davis Gault.  She attended Kelly Pinckney Schools and graduated from Jonesville High School.  Mrs. Bishop retired from Conso Products.  She was a member of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church.  Mrs. Bishop was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who was known for her wonderful cooking, especially her pound cakes.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

            Surviving are two daughters, Susan Bishop of Greenville and Joan B. Frost of Spartanburg; a son, Dean Bishop of Union; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Bishop of Santuc; two grandsons, Jacob Bishop and Jonah Bishop; several nieces and nephews; and her fur baby, Carly.  She was predeceased by a son, Alvin Bishop; two sisters, Jewel Hucks and Carrie Patrick; two brothers, Curtis Gault and Ernest “Bud” Gault; and a son-in-law, Joel Frost.

            The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the doctors and nurses at Union Medical Center: Dr. Hray, Dr. Nagubilli, Hillary, Nicole, Keyann, Evette, Regina, Jan, Amy, Laurie, Sherry, Jennifer, Brandie, Mildred and Freddie and to the nurses and CNAs of Crescent Hospice, especially Tonya and Caitlyn, for their care of Mrs. Bishop during her illness.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jim Cunningham and Rev. Brian Redding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

            Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
