Joyce White Ivey

            Mrs. Joyce White Ivey, age 81, wife of Rev. Dr. James W. Ivey of 1808 S. Jonesville Hwy., Jonesville, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her home.

            Mrs. Ivey was born in Union, December 29, 1939, a daughter of the late Paul and Lizzie Pruitt White. She was a 1958 graduate of Union High School and retired from United Merchants, Buffalo Plant.  Mrs. Ivey was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

            Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Jim Ivey and wife Nicki of Jonesville; a brother, Steve White and wife Linda of Richland, VA; two sisters-in-law, Tommie White of Rutherfordton, NC and Jeanette Moss of Union; three grandson: Jamie Ivey, Nickolas Ivey and Tyler Rector and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ivey was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Austin and Karen Jones and three brothers, James White, Ricky White and Timmy White.

            The family wishes to say a special Thank You to Compassus Hospice and Bruce Cook and his team for their care of Mrs. Ivey during her illness. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Nicki for her love and care that was freely given to help make it possible for Joyce to stay home surround by her family.

            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2021, at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by a dear family friend, Rev. Nelson Stokes.

            The family receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

            Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church or Jonesville United Methodist Church, PO Box 787, Jonesville, SC 29353.

            The family will be at the home, 1808 S. Jonesville Hwy., Jonesville.
