Judy Hagan Obituary

           Mrs. Judy Edwards Hagan, age 73 of 312 Wesley Chapel Rd. Union, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at her home.

            Mrs. Hagan was born in Union, January 12, 1948, a daughter of the late Elvie Levesay Edwards and the late Joseph Carl Edwards and wife Ivadell.  She was retired from Milliken and Co., Excelsior Plant and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hagan enjoyed the outdoors, especially her flowers and watching hummingbirds. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

            Surviving are two daughters, Sandra L. Birchfield and husband Steve of Union, and Beth Bishop of the home; a son, Joseph “Joey” Harris and wife Gina of Sharon; a sister, Sally Epps of St. Matthews; two brothers, Harry Douglas Edwards, Sr. of Inman and Gene Arthur Edwards, Sr. of Union; and her fur baby, Lucy. Mrs. Hagan is also survived by seven grandchildren, Steven Allen Birchfield and wife Casey, Samantha McNich and husband Josh, Victoria Harris, Brittany Birchfield and fiancé Justin Rogers, Hannah Hockgeiger and husband Jeremy, Jessica Nance and husband Will and Becka Bishop; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Grayson, Brycen and Macy Grace Birchfield, Alex and Owen McNich, Jace Harris, Bryleigh and Westin Rogers, Karoline and Kallahan Hockgeiger, and Aiden, Bentley and Chloe Nance. Mrs. Hagan was predeceased by a son Willie R. Harris, Jr., three sisters, Lucille Wylie, Mildred Snowden and Revia Queen, and three brothers, Emmet Edwards, Joseph C. Edwards and Thomas E. Edwards, Sr.

            The family wishes to express a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Crescent Hospice, especially Tonya, Jamie, Hillary and Katie for their care of Mrs. Hagan during her illness.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Chaplain Brian Redding and Rev. David Sealy. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

            Active pallbearers will be Harry D. Edwards, Jr., Chris Edwards, Josh Edwards, Aaron Edwards, Kenneth Black and Ron Gault.

            Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Queen, Lecil Smith, Joseph Edwards, Eddie Edwards, and Gene Edwards, Jr.

            In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to the American Lung Association of South Carolina, 2030 N. Church Place, Spartanburg, SC 29302.

            The family will be at the home, 312 Wesley Chapel Rd., Union.
