June Carol (Sprouse) Sanders Elliott

Mrs. June Carol Sprouse Sanders Elliott, age 83, of 2028 Main St., Buffalo, widow of Marion “Mack” Elliott, passed away, Friday, April 30, 2021 at Heartland of Union.

Mrs. Elliott was born June 22, 1937 in Union, a daughter of the late Harry Sprouse and Marguerite Souther Sprouse.  She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.  She was first married to the late Harold Dean Sanders and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are two sons, Mike Sanders and wife Cindy and Maxie Sanders and wife Mary Jo all of Union; a step-son, Neal Elliott and wife Carla of Buffalo; four grandchildren, Kelly Moore and husband Ian, Cayce Stackhouse and husband Ben, Kevin Sanders and wife Christi, and Staci Vaughan and husband Nick; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Dale Kingsmore.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Miriam Mick and Rev. Kevin Dalton.

Active pallbearers will be Ian Moore, Ben Stackhouse, Nick Vaughan, Kevin Sanders, Monty Kingsmore, and Danny Kingsmore.  The following are asked to sit in a group and serve as the honorary escort Mrs. Elliott’s co-workers from the SC DNR.

Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, the family request those in attendance wear a mask and practice social distancing.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Elliott’s caregivers, Darlene Jones, Marietta Jeter, and the nurses and staff of Heartland of Union for their love and care of Mrs. Elliott during her illness.
