Miss Kathy Ann Bryson age 68 of 120 Pinedale Ave., Union, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Miss Bryson was born in Union, February 24, 1955, a daughter of the late James W. “Lefty” Bryson and Jeanelle Robertson “Jenny” Bryson. She was a granddaughter of the late Herbert Robertson and Kathleen Gault Robertson. She was a 1973 graduate of Union High School where she was a proud member of the UHS Sting Machine. She also attended Gardner-Webb College where she was a member of the Bulldog Band. Miss Bryson retired from Sonoco-Crellin. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Union (and member of the choir) as long as her health allowed. She was a member of Union Drove #148 of the Benevolent, Patriotic Order of Does and a member of the UCHS Booster Club. Before her health declined, she could be found volunteering many hours in her daughter’s classroom. Miss Bryson loved helping others.
Surviving is a daughter, Jennifer Roark and husband Gerald of Union; two brothers, James R. “Randy” Bryson and wife Elizabeth of Palm Harbor, FL and Donald E. “Don” Bryson and wife Frances of Union; three nieces, Beth Dees and husband Joe of Union, Shelly Jackson and wife Terra of Spartanburg, and Ashley Bryson of Spartanburg; one nephew, Jonathon Bryson of Union; five great-nephews, Chase and Carter Mitchell, Kayson and Levi Kingsmore, and Ford Jolly.
Miss Bryson was predeceased by a sister, Jeannie Bryson, a brother, William “Russell” Bryson, two uncles, Donald H. Robertson and Eddie C. Robertson, and a special cousin, Tracey R. Armstrong.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Laura Kendrick, who was a faithful caregiver to Miss Bryson. In addition, they would like to thank the Union Medical Center, Spartanburg Medical Center, and ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care throughout the last few years. The family would also like to thank special friends: Stepheny and Jimmy Estes; Ansleigh Estes; and Debbie LaPalme for all of their help during the last few years.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023 in the Chapel at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Robbie Stollger and Rev. Brian Redding. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jonathon Bryson, Reggie Robertson, Gregg Robertson, Jimmy Estes, Blain Estes, Josh Bunton, and Tyler Kingsmore.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Jennifer and Gerald Roark, 123 Pinegate Drive, Union, SC 29379.
