Kathy Morris Selepes Meador

            Mrs. Kathy Morris Selepes Meador, age 70, widow of John D. Meador, Jr., passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

            Mrs. Meador was born in Union, July 7, 1951, a daughter of the late Wilbur D. and Frances Palmer Morris. She was a graduate of Union High School and Columbia Commercial College. She worked in banking for a number of years and retired from Wells Fargo. Mrs. Meador was currently employed with First Baptist Church in Spartanburg. She was former member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where she served as pianist for 22 years. She was first married to the late Michael F. Selepes, III.

            Surviving is a daughter, Allison Meador Ownbey and husband Todd of Boiling Spring; a son, Bryan Selepes and wife Heather of Spartanburg; a brother, Rick L. Morris and wife Kathy of Charlotte, NC; five grandsons, Noah F. Selepes and Wife Tiffani, Grayson M. Selepes, Hayden Earle, Logan Ownbey and Bentley Ownbey and three great-grandsons, McKinley Shepard, Jonah Selepes and Caine Selepes. Mrs. Meador was predeceased by a brother, Bruce R. Morris.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday October 11, 2021 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Seth Buckley. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Meadors great-nephews will serve as the active pallbearers.

            Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
