Mr. Larry Hope Belue, age 76, of Union, widower of Linda Horton Belue, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at home with his family by his side.
Mr. Belue was born in Union on September 4, 1944, a son of the late Jesse Edward Belue and Madge Harris Belue. Until his declining health, he was an active member of Tanglewood Baptist Church where he often played Bass Guitar. Mr. Belue was employed at Carlisle Finishing for many years before opening his own business, Union Garage, which he operated until retiring. He served in the South Carolina National Guard, he was a Mason for 35 years and was a Life Member of Union Masonic Lodge #75, a Hejaz Shriner, and an avid racing fan.
Mr. Belue is survived by his two children; a son, Jamie Ivey and wife Jan and daughter, Roxie Belue; three grandchildren, Jamie Beth Smith and husband Dustin, Kinsley Gallman, and Ashley Ivey, all of Union; three great-grandchildren, Rhett Smith, Ridge Smith, and Abrielle Voiselle; four brothers, Wayne Belue and wife Marian of Jonesville, Neil Belue and wife Carolyn, Ricky Belue, and Jimmy Belue and wife Robin all of Union; sister-in-law, Debi Belue of Ridgeway; and many much loved nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Belue is predeceased by his sister, Elaine Belue Grady and a brother, Dennis Belue.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Tanglewood Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Charles Hutcheson and Mr. Chad Ponder. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Jamie Ivey, Mickey Belue, Shane Belue, Heath Belue, Josh Belue, Jason Belue, William Belue and Joey Belue. Honorary pallbearers will be, Bobby Eison, JD Bright, Jeffrey Bright, James Bright, Jason Bishop, Clint Smith, William Moss, Billy Scott, Aubrey Adams, Junior Brock, Richard Gault, Sammy Walker, Joe Moore, Phillip Poole, Dalton Williams, Petey Ivey, Junior Ruff, and William “Boo” Ridgell. Due to a long list of close acquaintances of their daddy, the family ask that any fellow racing and business friends sit together as a group.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:30 PM prior to the services at the Church.
