Lewis Davis Guinn

          Mr. Lewis Davis Guinn, age 83, arrived at his heavenly home on December 1, 2021. He was born in Lockhart, SC, on March 20, 1938, to J.D. and Nora Bentley Guinn. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his wife Elizabeth Gaile Guinn and a son, Eric Guinn.

            Mr. Guinn is survived by a daughter, Marrianne Lenard and husband Danny of Clover, SC; a son, Doug Guinn and wife Tammy of Pacolet, SC; a sister, Janice Bailey of Lockhart, SC; and four grandsons, Ross Lenard, Ryan Lenard, Eric Guinn and Phillip Guinn.

            Deedy (as he was known) was a graduate of Lockhart High School and served in the Army National Guard. He entered the workforce with Milliken and Co., Lockhart Plant, and went on to work at Conso and Torrington Plants. In addition, he owned and operated a restaurant in Lockhart called Deedy’s Diner for many years. In his later years, he retired from International Paper in Santuck, SC.

            Deedy was a member of Philippi Baptist Church where he once served as a Sunday School teacher and a Deacon. He also participated with the Gideons International. He was a 60 year member of the Lockhart Masonic Lodge #244 where he had served as Master and Past Master.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 3, 2021, at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial with Mason Rites will follow in the church cemetery.

            Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 Friday at the church prior to the service.

            Active pallbearers will be Alvin Justus, Robert Palmer, Jeff Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Aaron Bailey, and Jim Palmer.

            Memorials may be made to the Philippi Baptist Church Debt Reduction Fund, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379.
