Linda Johnson Chastain

Mrs. Linda Johnson Chastain, age 63, wife of Mike Chastain of 657 Brown’s Creek Rd., Union, passed away Sunday November 21, 2021, at her home after a battle with cancer.

Mrs. Chastain was born in Spartanburg County, November 18, 1958, a daughter of the late John T. Johnson and Nina Sherbert Johnson. She was a 1977 graduate of Union High School and was employed with the Union Public School System. Mrs. Chastain was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters and one son, Jennifer Warchol and husband Mark of Aiken, Betsy Houdasheldlt of Summerville, Layla Jeter, Kinsley Curtice and Bryson Rhinehart all of Union; three grandchildren, McKenzie Warchol of Aiken, Reagan Houdasheldlt and Carter Houdasheldlt both of Summerville and a sister-in-law, Annette Johnson of Union. Mrs. Chastain was predeceased by three sisters, Eunice Tucker, Betty Jo Zimmerman, and Hazel Leonhardt and two brothers, Robert Johnson and William O. Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis and Rev. Lynn Ford. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Lee Cooper, Lee Chastain, Robbie Moore, Eddie Lane, Matthew Barnett, and David Berry.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made at Arthur State Bank for college funds for the three minor children of the home.

The family will be at the home, 657 Brown’s Creek Rd., Union.
