Lucy Robinson Whitehead

            Mrs. Lucy Robinson Whitehead, age 81, wife of Howard D. Whitehead of 521 Toluca St., Union, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 10, 2020.

            Mrs. Whitehead was born in Union, September 27, 1939, a daughter of the late Heyward and Floree Palmer Robinson. She was a 1957 graduate of Union High School where she played basketball and held the record for the most points scored until recently. She was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church where she was president of the United Methodist Women for both Duncan Acres and Bethel United Methodist Churches. She and her husband cooked the community dinners for many years. Mrs. Whitehead was formerly employed with Executive Knits of Union. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, “Mimi” and aunt.

            Surviving in addition to her husband of 60 years, are a daughter Cindy Whitehead of the home and a special furbaby, Tanner. She is survived by  special “grandsons”  Brad and Hunter Allison of Union; her brothers, Alvin Robinson and wife Sylvia of Pacolet, Donald Robinson and wife Carroll of Union and Mike Robinson and wife Bunny of Jonesville and numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Donice Allison and husband Jackie of Union,

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, October 12, 2020 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Monday at the church prior to the services.

            Active pallbearers will be Brad Allison, Hunter Allison, Cam Robinson, Clint Robinson, Marty Robinson, Scotty Robinson, Larry Robinson and Kevin Robinson.

            The following are asked to sit in a group Franklin and Brenda Pridemore, Dr. Robert Wentz, June Cohen, Ronnie and Linda Lybrand, Larry and Georgia Ann Rouse, Pat Hicks, David and Reba Turner, Walena Kirby, Opal Sanders, Pat and Earl Hendricks, Debbie Robertson, Angie Beaty, Robert and Linda Edwards and the Staff and Nurses of Heartland of Union.

            Memorials may be made to Duncan Acres United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 216, Union, SC 29379.

            The family will be at the home, 521 Toluca St., Union.
