Mabel Helms LaMore

            Mrs. Mabel Helms LaMore, age 77, of 189 Whitlock Lake Rd., Jonesville, widow of Robert Charles Lamore, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at her home.

            Mrs. LaMore was born in Gastonia, NC, May 16, 1944, a daughter of the late William and Ruby Spencer Helms. She was a loving homemaker who was previously employed with Wellington Leisure Products.

            Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Rhoden of the home, Josephine Lanier and husband Bill, and Donna Wines and husband Jason all of Florida; three sons, Jackson French and wife Mary of Tennessee, William LaMore and wife Tammy of Jonesville, and Larry Kelley of Spartanburg; three sisters, Sherry McCall of Mooresville, NC, Diane Johnson and husband Daniel of Wahalla, and Carol Helms of Florida; one brother, Ronnie Helms and wife Charleen of Taylorsville, NC; 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Mrs. LaMore was predeceased by four sons, Bobby Gene Helms, Donald Steve Kelley, Jr., Mark Athony Kelley and Leroy William LaMore; a grandson, Brayden Alli Jones and a brother, Gene Helms.

            The family wishes to say a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Crescent Hospice especially Jamie Knight, CNA, Sally Copeland, RN and Chrissy Griffin, CNA for their care of Mrs. LaMore during her illness.

            Funeral services will be held at 7:30 PM Friday, July 2, 2021 at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by Chaplain Brian Redding. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at the Jonesville Chapel.

            Staff and nurses of Crescent Hospice are asked to sit in a group.

            The family will be at the home, 189 Whitlock Lake Rd., Jonesville.
