Mrs. Maggie Trammell Howell, age 90, of 612 W. Main St., Union, widow of O’Neal Howell, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Union Medical Center.
Mrs. Howell was born in Union, February 12, 1931, a daughter of the late Gary and Mattie Davis Trammell. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mrs. Howell was loving and outgoing with a great sense of humor. She never met a stranger and was know to all as “Granny Maggie”. All of her grandbabies were her “reasons” for living.
Surviving are a daughter, Maxine Holcombe of the home; three sons, Terry “Auggie” Howell of Union, Dennis “Hookman” Howell and Gerald “Duck” Howell both of the home; a sister, Janice Fowler and a brother, Francis Trammell both of Jonesville; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Howell of Union; five grandchildren, Lance Holcombe and wife Jessica of VA, Amber Lawson and husband Patrick of Union, Hannah Brewington and husband Kevin of Union; Alexis Howell of Greenville and Layla Howell of Union; and seven great-grandchildren, Carson, Tinsley, Abel, Lillie, Jayci, Hunter, Alexandria, and Cohen. Mrs. Howell was predeceased by a daughter, JoAnne Howell and two sons, Danny Howell and Timmy Howell. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Kathaleen King, Mary Brewington, and Joyce Palmer and three brothers, Gary Trammell, Jr., Bud Trammell, and Richard Trammell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 21, 2022, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Damon Duncan. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday at the chapel prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Kenny Puckett, John Young, Kyle Brannon and Curly Harris.
The family will be at the home, 612 W. Main St., Union.
