Mamie Fowler Addis

Mrs. Mamie Fowler Addis, age 97, of 917 Spartanburg Hwy., Jonesville, widow of L.J. Addis, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Addis was born October 6, 1922 in Union, a daughter of the late Herbert Fowler and Annie Dessie Fowler.  She retired after 46 years from J.P. Stevens and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Addis was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are a daughter, Gayle Addis Horne of the home; three grandchildren, Craig Horne, Chris Horne and wife Susan and Jay Haney; six great-grandchildren, Jordon Horne, Matt Cunningham and wife Christina, Cassie Horne, Brittany Horne and Mikey Horne; and four great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Landyn Cunningham and Jacob and Cole Haney.  She was predeceased by one son, Tony Michael Addis; one granddaughter, Tammy Horne; one great-grandson, Adam Horne; five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Randy Burgess.  Burial will follow at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Jordon Horne, Craig Horne, Chris Horne, Robbie Horne, Matt Cunningham, Michael Roberson, and Jay Haney.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Crescent Hospice for their love and care of Mrs. Addis during her illness.
