Margaret Culbertson Obituary

           Mrs. Margaret Turner Culbertson, age 85, widow of Harold Culbertson, was called to Heaven on November 18, 2021. Born in Chester County, she was a daughter of the late Roland Monk Turner and Mary Pearson Turner. Mrs. Culbertson was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry “Squeaky” Turner of Lockhart and Charles Turner of Union. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School worked most of her life with Conso Products and Her Majesty in Union. Mrs. Culbertson was a faithful member of Philippi Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School at Lockhart Presbyterian Church for many years. She also was a volunteer reading teacher for the Union County Literacy Council. Mrs. Culbertson was a fervent prayer warrior and showed encouragement to many through cards in times of need and celebration.

            Surviving are a son, Philip Culbertson and wife Karen of Seneca and a daughter, Melinda Crocker and husband Randy of Union. Mrs. Culbertson has four loving grandchildren, Christy Medlin and husband Tony of Central, Steven Culbertson and wife Rhea of Seneca, Jennifer Roberts and husband Brandon of Union and Joshua Crocker of Greenville. In addition, she has eight precious great-grandchildren, Lane and Chase Medlin, Josie and Jace Roberts, and Noah, Levi, Titus, and Micah Culbertson.

The family extends special love and appreciation to precious neighbors, Bonnie and Eddie Gibson who have become like family in showing the love of Christ in the lives of Margaret and Harold Culbertson through the years. Also, much appreciation for the care shown by the staff and nurses of Heartland of Union.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Robert Scott. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services. Please follow COVID protocols.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Debt Retirement Fund at Philippi Baptist Church, 327 Philippi Church Rd., Union, SC 29379 or send a card or visit an elderly person in need of love and compassion.

The family will be at their respective homes.
