Margie (Price) Cope

            Mrs. Margie Price Cope, age 86 of 109 Price Place, Union, widow of Harold Milton Cope, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 14, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

            Mrs. Cope was born in Union, October 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Frank Price and Lillie Waldrop Price. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and formerly worked in the cafeteria at Sims Junior High School. She loved all animals and loved her Bennie Babies Mrs. Cope was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

              Surviving is a daughter, Lisa K Ballard and husband Ronald of Woodruff; a son, Harold “Mark” Cope, of the home; two sisters, Lillie Garner and husband Julian and Minnie McCraw and husband Kenneth all of Union; two grandchildren, Kayla Rochester and Thomas Bradley “Brad” Rochester and wife Chasity; four great grandchildren, Payton Knighten, Noah Rochester, Kelci Rochester and Christian Rochester; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cope was predeceased by three sisters, Frances Henderson, Betty Mallett and Marie Atkinson; four brothers, Arthur Price, Earl Price, George Price and Lawrence Price.

            The family would like to express a special “Thank you” to Gentiva Hospice, for the love and kindness that was given to their dear mother, Mrs. Margie Cope.

            A celebration of life service will be held graveside 3:00 PM Monday, April 17, 2023 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Josh Freeman.

            The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors, C/O David Turner, 154 Santuc Dr., Union, SC.
