Martha Cooper Winchester

Mrs. Martha Cooper Winchester, age 77, of 141 Pasture Drive, Union, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at ProMedica of Union.

Mrs. Winchester was born March 8, 1945 in Union, a daughter of the late Walter Ervin Cooper and Lois Tucker Cooper.  She was a graduate of Union High School and retired as Supervisor from Conso Products.  Mrs. Winchester was a member of Hillside Baptist Church.  She enjoyed being apart of several bowling leagues as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Winchester was formerly married to Henry Barry Winchester, Sr.

Surviving are three children, Wendy Gregory of Union, Barry Winchester, Jr. of Union, and Todd Winchester and wife Victoria of Florida; three sisters, Linda Benfield of Mooresville, Betty Richards of Mooresville, and Mabel Benton of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Kristy Garner and husband Tim, Brad Gregory, Kacie Gregory, Mercedez Winchester, Dylan Winchester, and Skyler Winchester; and eight great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Caillin Gregory; two brothers, Walter Cooper and Johnny Cooper; and five sisters, Louise Williams, Virginia Cooper, Frances Austin, Juanita Burgess, and Margie Caldwell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. DeWayne Rueter.  Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Alijahua Rice, Gavyn Gregory, TJ Garner, Gregory Garner, and Jordan Mendenhall.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 AM prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
