Mary Lee Hembree, age 73, of 1859 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Pauline, passed away, Friday, October 15, 2021, at Prisma Health—Greenville.
Ms. Hembree was born April 12, 1948, in Spartanburg, a daughter of the late M.H. “Bud” Hembree and Arlee Lawson Hembree. She was a 1966 graduate of Dorman High School, the second graduating class. Ms. Hembree graduated Spartanburg Methodist College and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Limestone College. She retired from AT&T after 41 years, and along with her two sisters they had 112 years of service with AT&T. Ms. Hembree was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She was a member of the Joy Club at Bogansville United Methodist Church, Pioneers of AT&T, she and her sisters helped with stuffing pillows for the heart patients at SRMC, the Red Hat Society, and Baker’s Dozen at Clemson Extension.
Surviving are two sisters, Joyce Hembree and Ruthie Hembree, both of the home; three brothers, Otis Hembree and wife Susie of Pauline, Charlie Hembree of Roebuck, and Willis Hembree of Pauline; five nephews, Travis Hembree and wife Jennifer, Wesley Hembree and wife Heather, Gregg Hembree and wife Kerri, Jason Hembree, and Bryan Hembree and wife Janey; five great-nephews, Bryson Hembree, Caden Hembree, Sawyer Hembree, Braylin Hembree, and Parker Hembree; and two great-nieces, Katie Caughman and Laura Hembree. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Gloria Hembree.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Farmer. Burial will follow at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Brown, Chad Farmer, Michael House, Raymond Lawson, Danny Hinson, and Steve Lawson.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.
