Mr. Michael Carl “Mike” Stevens, age 76, husband of Joan Caldwell Stevens of 105 Circle Dr., Union, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Stevens was born in Union, June 20, 1945, a son of the late Carl and Edna Hall Stevens. He was a graduate of the Camden Military Academy and attended Wingate College. Mr. Stevens was retired from WBCU Radio where he was a news director and host of the “Morning Show”. He was also the “Voice of the Yellow Jackets” at Union County Stadium for a number of years.
Mr. Stevens was a member of Union Presbyterian Church and formerly served as Minister of Music at West Springs Baptist Church and Whitmire First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Susan Dalton and husband Brent of Chapin, Ashley Thomas and husband Barry of Lexington, and Andi Suber and husband Frank of Prosperity and six grandchildren, Brody Dalton, Darby Dalton, Xander Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Cade Moore, and Avery Suber. He was predeceased by a brother Wayne Stevens.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 24, 2022, at Union Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Lee Mosley and Rev. Sanders Read.
Visitation will be immediately following the services at the church.
