Mrs. Mildred Evans Crocker, age 93, of 1696 Berry Farm Rd., Union, widow of John C. “J.C.” Crocker, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at her home.
Mrs. Crocker was born in Whitmire, February 15, 1927, a daughter of the late William E. “Bill” Evans and Mary Hayes Evans. She was a graduate of Whitmire High School and retired from the Union County School System as a cafeteria manager. Mrs. Crocker was a member of Cane Creek Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who was cherished by her family.
Surviving are a son, Evans Crocker and wife Jenny of Santuc; two grandchildren, Mary Evans Crocker and John Tyler Crocker both of Santuc; and a sister, Evelyn Hamilton of Simpsonville. Mrs. Crocker was predeceased by a sister, Betty Godwin.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Evelyn “Joyce” Curenton who has cared for Mrs. Crocker for the last five years. Also, a special Thank You to the staff and nurses of Kindred Hospice and Comfort Keepers for their care and compassion. The family would like to recognize and thank several special friends who have kept in touch with Mrs. Crocker during her illness.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Cane Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Dr. James Bradley. (Those attending are asked to follow the COVID protocol)
Friends who would like to pay their respects to Mrs. Crocker may do so at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home beginning Monday afternoon.
