Milton Scarborough Obituary

            Mr. Milton Todd Scarborough, age 58, of 345 New Hope Church Rd., Jonesville, husband of Jill Johnson Scarborough, passed away, Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Prisma Health—Greenville Memorial Hospital.

            Mr. Scarborough was born February 21, 1964 in Union, a son of Margaret Palmer Scarborough of Jonesville and the late Lee Scarborough.  He was a 1982 graduate of Jonesville High School and a 1986 graduate of Limestone College where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.  He was previously the Band Director at Jonesville High School and was a freelance musician, as well as a sound and stage engineer.  Mr. Scarborough had previously owned and operated Todd’s Auto Sales for many years.  He was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and as the Choir Director.  He was a member of the International Bands of America.  Mr. Scarborough was selected to perform with the McDonald’s All-American High School Marching Band in the Macy’s Parade and Rose Parade.  He was also a previous member of the band Shades, he played with many other bands, including the Blackfoot Band.

            Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are four children, Spencer Todd Scarborough, Thomas James Scarborough, Mary Scarborough Wolfe and husband Cooper, and Macy Davis Scarborough; two grandchildren, Bryson James Scarborough and IlaJae Scarborough; two brothers, Tommy Scarborough and wife Deborah and Timmy Scarborough and wife Cheryl; a sister, Kim Peay and husband Buck; and a number of nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Lockhart First Baptist Church (126 Armory Rd., Union, SC 29379) conducted by the Rev. Drew Rogers and Rev. Ben Hill.  Burial will follow at Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

            Active pallbearers will be Heath Ward, Brian Williams, Jamie Hayes, Wade Martin, Jack Roberts, Tim Coxie, Eddie Vinson, and Rodney Flemming.  Musicians who worked with Todd are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort.

            Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church.

            Memorials may be made to the Scarborough Benefit, 345 New Hope Church Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353 or to Lockhart First Baptist Church, PO Box 190, Lockhart SC 29364.

            The family is at the home of his mother, 1111 South Jonesville Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353.
