            Miss Patty Denise Gaines, age 23, of 111 Gilead Hills Dr., Jonesville, gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

            Patty was born in Spartanburg, January 1, 1998. She is the daughter of Lorie Keith Gaines, and sister of Cassie Lynn Gaines of the home.

            Twenty-three years ago, the Lord blessed us with the most amazing gift from heaven and we named her Patty. Patty had the personality to light up a whole room. Her smile and laugh was so affectionate you could not help but be anything but happy around her. She had so much love and compassion for everyone. Patty was our miracle baby, who beat all the odds against her. She was so loved by everyone she came in contact with. Patty enjoyed being loved, cuddled and rocked. She enjoyed watching Dora the Explorer, singing country music and dancing to all kinds of music. She loved car rides, trips to the mountains and being with her family. We had 23 years of happy and loving memories with our angel. She brought so much love, happiness, and joy to our family. We love and miss her so much.

            Surviving in addition to her mom and sister are her brother, Michael Gaines and wife Amanda; two nephews, Bricen Keith Gaines and Cecil Auden Gaines of Roebuck, along with her aunt, Tamatha Rochester of Jonesville. Patty is predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Eloise H. Keith and her maternal grandfather, Cecil R. Keith, along with her aunt, Patty Lavonia Keith.

            We would like to give a special thank you to all the people who has provided care to Patty over the years. Each and everyone had a special place in Patty’s heart and life. We would also like to thank Cynthia Robbins for all the years she was with Patty. Thank you for the amazing care and support you provided to our family and Patty. We would like to thank all the nurses, respiratory therapists and the whole care team on PICU at Spartanburg Regional. We would also like to thank Dr. Hannah Sahhar and Dr. Sami Rishmawi for all the care and compassion they showed in taking care of Patty. Everyone will always hold a special place in our hearts for everything that had been done for Patty and our family.

            Patty will be carried to the home of her brother, Michael Gaines, 138 Spirit Dr., Roebuck, Thursday and will remain there until Saturday afternoon.

            A visitation will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
