Paul "Bo" Kirby

            Mr. Paul “Bo” Kirby, age 93, of 192 Rogerstown Rd., Jonesville, passed away, Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.  He was married to the late Maudie Pelham Kirby for 70 years and 10 months.

            Mr. Kirby was born in Spartanburg Co., April 23, 1930, a son of the late Homer and Nannie Moss Kirby. He was a retired logger and co-owner of Kirby Brothers Logging for 45 years. Mr. Kirby was also a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Gilead Baptist Church.

            Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Vanderford and husband Lawrence of Union; a son, Phil Kirby and wife Pat of Jonesville; two sisters, Thelma Crawford and husband Gary, and Brenda Parkins and husband Jimmy; a brother Grady Kirby and wife Teri all of Jonesville; four grandchildren, Michael Woods, Rodney Woods and wife Mandy, Justin Kirby and wife Lacey and Cassie Sanders and husband Drew; ten great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Kirby was predeceased by a daughter Belinda Paulette Kirby, a son, James Paul Kirby, a grandson, Charlie Kirby, three sisters and three brothers.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Gilead Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon. Burial will follow at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.

            Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the services.

            Active pallbearers will be Mike Kirby, Bobby Ray “Junior” Kirby, Justin Kirby, Josh Gault, Rodney Woods and Ethan Woods.

            The family will be at the home, 192 Rogerstown Rd., Jonesville, after 2:00 PM Sunday.
