She enjoyed crocheting and sewing clothes for her children, and even making wedding dresses for them. She also enjoyed playing her piano and guitar and singing with her friends and her grandchildren. She would light up when she would share her beliefs of the Lord and the Bible.

Ivey and husband James Terry of Union, and Patricia “Tish” Carry and husband Bill of Spartanburg; a sister, Mary Jane Chastain and husband Carlton of Union; seven grandchildren, Kassie, Chad, Chris, Jamie, Rocky, Billy, and James; and eleven great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Deviex Vinson and Merle Thatcher and two brothers, Leon Elmer Hopkins and Montague Hopkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Norman Band.  Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be in the church following the service for visitation.

The family would like to thank the special, talented, and wonderful people that helped with her care throughout the years: Dr. Jeffery Craft, the Physical Therapists, Home Health Doctors and Nurses, the staff at Union Medical Center, and Hospice Staff.
