Mr. Ray William “Jim” “Dog” Gallman, age 77, husband of Barbara Keith Gallman, of 1515 Kelly Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Gallman was born in Jonesville, May 11, 1943, a son of the late Dean and Lillie Mae Coleman Gallman. He was a retired painter having worked with Cook Vaughan for many years. Mr. Gallman was a former member of the SC National Guard, Jonesville Unit and enjoyed fishing and shooting pool. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Anita Stephens and Rita Northern both of Union; three grandsons, Justus Stephens, Blake Northern and Michael Gallman, who was reared in the home; two great-granddaughters, Harper and Ryleigh Stephens; and nieces and nephews, Dean Gallman, Stacie Wiggins and Chris Wiggins. Mr. Gallman was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Ray Gallman, a sister, Ann Wiggins and a brother, Dean Gallman.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Union Dialysis Clinic, the doctors, staff, and nurses of Spartanburg Medical Center 6th floor Tower and CCU for their care of Mr. Gallman during his illness.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel, 145 Hames Ave., Jonesville, conducted by Rev. Wayne Cooke and Mr. Chad Ponder. Visitation will be held immediately following the service at the chapel.
The family will be at the home 1515 Kelly Rd., Union.
