Mr. Ronnie Greer McNeace, 75, of Union, passed peacefully from this world on Friday, October 8, 2021.
Born on May 5, 1946 in Union, he was the son of the late Lester Greer McNeace and Ruth Helen Williams McNeace. He was a graduate of Union High School and served in the South Carolina Army National Guard. Mr. McNeace retired from BellSouth as a service technician. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. Mr. McNeace enjoyed being with his family and friends, sightseeing, fishing, watching westerns, and listening to music. Mr. McNeace never met a stranger and found love in his heart for all people.
Mr. McNeace is survived by his wife, Patsy O’Shields McNeace; sons, James (Melissa) McNeace of Buffalo, Rodney (Jennifer) McNeace of Blacksburg and Patrick McNeace of Union; a daughter, Janet (William) Ashmore of Newberry; a brother, Mike (Cheryl) McNeace of Jonesville; a sister, Debbie (Dennis) Teague of Georgia; sisters-in-law, Debbie McNeace of Jonesville and Donna (Gordon) Wysong of Roebuck; a brother-in-law, Dan (Kathy) O’Shields of Union; grandchildren, Ryan McNeace, Ady Ashmore, Charner McNeace, Mahayla McNeace, Sam Ashmore, Ben Ashmore and Jax Roberts; and multiple nieces and nephews. Mr. McNeace was predeceased by a brother, Terry McNeace and brother-in-law, Roy Palmer.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Union Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Josh Freeman. Visitation will follow.
Due to the current health concerns of COVID 19, protocols for social distancing are asked to be observed.
Active pallbearers will be Brooks Carwile, Michael O’Shields, Stuart Palmer, Matthew Palmer, Ryan McNeace, and Charner McNeace.
The family would like to thank the Crescent Hospice staff for their loving care given to him during the last several months. Most importantly, Mr. McNeace would not have likely known most of his grandchildren without the remarkable care provided by renowned surgeon Dr. William W. Kerfoot, MD following a stage-4 cancer diagnosis 15-years ago.
