Mrs. Rosa Lee Pridemore Clowney, age 89, of Whitmire Hwy., widow of Bill Clowney, passed away, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Greenville Place.
Mrs. Clowney was born in Whitmire, November 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Ezra Daniel Pridemore and Margaret Frances Osborne Pridemore. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired after 40 years from the textile industry having work at J.P. Stevens and Milliken. Mrs. Clowney and her husband were avid gardeners who loved to share their bounty with the community. She and her husband were of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two sisters, Essie P. Fechter and Alma P. Faucett; three brothers, Bill Pridemore and wife Irina, Earl Pridemore and wife Betty and Carl Pridemore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clowney was predeceased by four sisters, Bonnie P. Tippey, Mildred P. Williamson, Shirley P. Sturkie, an infant sister, Naomi Pridemore and two brothers, Carson Pridemore and Robert Pridemore.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner. Due to the current health crisis, COVID guidelines for wearing mask and social distancing are to be followed.
Those wishing to pay respects to Mrs. Clowney may do so after 2:00 PM Saturday at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
