Ruby Weathers Obituary

Mrs. Ruby Sprouse Weathers, age 79, wife of William Weathers, Jr., of 127 Lemonade Rd., Pacolet, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

Mrs. Weathers was born in Spartanburg Co., May 15, 1942, a daughter of the late George Wilson and Maebell Hill Sprouse. She was a homemaker and a member of Friends of Faith Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Weathers was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 61 years are a son, Danny K. Weathers and wife Karen, three daughters, Donna Weathers Murray and husband John, Darlene A. Weathers, and Dana Weathers Alexander and husband Joshua; grandchildren are Cheryl Weathers Johnson (Torrey), William Daniel Weathers (Bethany), Taylor Murray Bishop (Justin), Tiffany Murray Blanton (Jordan), Mia and Lila Godbee (Darlene), Chloe, Brady, and Eric Alexander (Dana), Alex Klinect (Jeremiah) and Jay Waddell along with six great grandchildren. Mrs. Weathers is also survived by two sisters, Betty Whitt and Alma Parker, and three brothers, David, Bobby and Lawrence Sprouse. She was predeceased by a son, Roger Eugene Weathers, a sister, Christine Johns and a brother, Paul Sprouse.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff and nurses of Spartanburg Regional Tower 6 and Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their care of Mrs. Weathers during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Friends of Faith Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jack Owens and Rev. Dennis Tessnier. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church of Pacolet Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Richard Cassel, Jack Motts, Darryl Padgett, Jeff Gibson, Cleveland Grant and Jason Hofseth.

Memorials may be made to the Friends of Faith Baptist Church, 190 Church St., Pacolet, SC 29372.

The family will be at the home, 127 Lemonade Rd., Pacolet.
