Mr. Samuel Glen Childers, age 64, husband of Teresa Childers of 3575 Buffalo West Springs Highway, Buffalo, SC passed away peacefully Monday, November 6th, 2023, at the family home after an extended illness.
Born August 18, 1959, he was the son of the late James Ralph and Janie Scott Childers. He was a graduate of Union High School and was employed as a machinist with Westinghouse Airbrake Company.
Mr. Childers was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Fishing League Worldwide and the Jonesville Bass Masters. He was a member of Putman Baptist Church where he loved the Lord.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 34 years are three daughters Kala and husband Turtle of Union, Samantha, and Tia, both of Buffalo; a brother Scottie Childers and wife Nancy of Buffalo; Two sisters in law Linda Tumblin of Union and Ann Williams and husband Wayne of Louisiana. In addition, he is survived by three granddaughters Dixie and Aria Robinson, and Reese Lynn who will be arriving in the spring, several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Dani Lynn Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, November 9th at Putman Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Donald Tillman and the Rev. Lee Franklin. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
The following are asked to serve as active pallbearers, Hunter Allison, Kenneth Black, Uncle Hunter Davis, Timothy Epps, Justin Hart, and Keith Ivey.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg Regional Hospice, and all the caregivers for all the attention, devotion and love shown to him.
