Sandra June West, a beloved member of her community, has passed away at the age of 85. She was born on January 10, 1938, to her parents, J.C. and Viola Ford and was a loving and devoted daughter throughout her life. Sandra was known for her career in the retail industry, having worked for many years at Reed’s Jewelers. Even after the store closed down, she continued working diligently at Merlin Chiropractic and Kimbrell’s Furniture.
Sandra, formerly known as Sandra June Ford, had a vivacious personality that endeared her to those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her family held a special place in her heart, but it was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who truly brought joy and happiness into her world. They were the apple of her eye, and she found immense fulfillment in being with them.
A Godly woman with strong faith, Sandra cherished her time spent within the walls of her church. She found solace and guidance in worship and was an active member in various religious activities. Her unwavering devotion to God served as an inspiration to many.
On August 19, 2023, Sandra passed away peacefully at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center. While we mourn her loss deeply, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is now reunited with loved ones who passed before her. Sandra leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: her daughter Donna Austin (David), sons, Kenneth West (Teresa) and Larry West (Jennifer), all from West Springs.
Her memory will be kept alive through the love she shared with seven adoring grandchildren: Kindra Horne (Brad), Shelley West Harris (Adam), Chrystal Garner (Jamie), Russell Austin (Kacie), Tyler West, Marla Austin, and Kyle Williams (Jessica).
