Shirley Vaughan Bobo

            Mrs. Shirley Vaughan Bobo, age 85, of 778 Brown’s Creek Church Rd., Union, widow of Thomas Bobo, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

            Mrs. Bobo was born in Union, June 1, 1935, a daughter of the late C.C. and Bertie Vaughan. She was graduate of Jonesville High School and a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Barbara Lamb Sunday School class and served on the Kitchen Committee of the church. Mrs. Bobo was a kind, gentle, and loving lady who enjoyed her friends and especially adored her family.

            Surviving are three daughters, Sheila Mize and husband Danny, Angie Davis and husband Johnny and Tracy Garner and husband Kevin all of Union; a nephew reared in the home, Robbie Wilkinson of Folly Beach; six grandchildren, Jon Mize and wife Brittany, Adam Mize and wife Jenny, Lacey Addis and husband Daniel, Brittaney Hart and husband Justin, Noah Garner and fiancée Emily Bonham and Kallee Garner; nine great-grandchildren, Luke Paschall, Brayden West, Analeigh Hart, Ryder Addis, Avery Addis, Carter Mize, Brice Mize, Tanner Johnson and Emma Mize. Mrs. Bobo was also survived by two sisters, Joyce Adams and husband Twig and Rita Sanders and husband Timmy Dean; two brothers, Larry Vaughan and wife Sue and Chris Vaughan; a sister-in-law, Frances Bobo; two special cousins, Paulette Vaughan and Gail Gallman and a special friend, Evelyn Alman. She was predeceased by two brothers, Floyd Vaughan and Gerald Vaughan and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Vaughan and Pam Vaughan and a brother-in-law, Ralph Bobo.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Brown’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Shawn Head. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the services. It is requested that everyone in attendance follow COVID-19 protocol.

            Memorials may be made to Brown’s Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, 118 Brown’ Creek Church Rd., Union, SC 29379.
