Stephenie Joy Hinson Caldwell

            Mrs. Stephenie Joy Hinson Caldwell, age 70 wife of Charles Caldwell of 4900 Cross Keys Hwy., Union, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

            Mrs. Caldwell was born in Michigan, October 10, 1950, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nell Smart Hinson and was reared in the home of her grandparents, Martin and Fannie Smart. She was formerly employed with BMG and later employed with Timken and Co. Mrs. Caldwell was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and helping with the church’s Youth and Children’s ministry. She always looked for a way to help and take care of others.

            Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Martin Caldwell and wife Cindy, Paul Caldwell and Roger Caldwell all of Union; a brother, Stanley Hinson of Forest City, NC; grandchildren: Dillon Caldwell, Daytona Caldwell, Dayton Caldwell, Sierra Gregory and husband Jacob, Cassie Steadman, Bonnie Steadman and Chloe Steadman; and two great-grandchildren, Emberleigh Gregory and Ensley Gregory.

            Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 2, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

            Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at New Hope Baptist Church.

            Members of the Adult Sunday School Class of New Hope Baptist will serve as pallbearers.

            The family will be at their respective home.
