Susan Vess McAbee

            Mrs. Susan Vess McAbee, age 63 of 213 Keenan Ave., Union, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Heartland of Union.

            Mrs. McAbee was born in Union, October 26, 1958, a daughter of the late Arthur and Georgia Inman Vess. She was a 1976 graduate of Union High School and received her nursing degree from USC-Upstate. Mrs. McAbee retired as a Critical Care nurse with Spartanburg Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and participating in their activities. She was very close to her nieces and nephews and loved to watch her niece play soft ball. Mrs. McAbee was an avid Gamecock fan and was involved with the Mircale League of Union County and was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church.

            Surviving are a daughter, Laura Cornelison and husband Trey; a sister, Cindy Haney; two granddaughters, Addison Cornelison and Kaitlyn Cornelison; a grandson, Landon Johnson; and nieces and nephews, Bridgit, Casey, Devon, Jaela, Nyla, Erica and Matthew. She was predeceased by an infant son, Mark Joseph McAbee and a brother, Jamie Vess.

            A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 5, 2022 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Pastor Jesse Pendergrass.

            Visitation will be held immediately following the services in the chapel.

            The family will be at the home of her daughter, Laura Cornelison, 136 Springdale Dr., Union.
