Mrs. Sybil Turner Bobo, age 86, of 110 Springdale Dr., Union, widow of Claude Bobo passed away, Friday, January 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Bobo was born in Union, February 11, 1934, a daughter of the late Noah and Lula Mae Mitchell Turner. She was retired from Timken. Mrs. Bobo was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Barber and husband David of Union and Cynthia Taylor of Union; two granddaughters, Renee Seay of Inman and Mandy Ivey of Union; three grandsons, Bary Taylor and wife Christy of Jonesville, David Barber and wife Angie of Union, and Shane Barber and wife Sarah of Union; eight great-grandchildren, Dillon Barber and wife Kayla, Tyler Barber, Brandon Seay, Michael Taylor, Bradley Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Allison Ivey and Noah Ivey; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Ann Gossett. Mrs. Bobo was predeceased by five brothers, George, J.D., Clarence, Dean and Reford Turner and three sisters, Odell Eaves, Millie Carter, and Dot Gossett.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2020 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Andrew Austin and Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon.
Active pallbearers will be Brandon Seay, Michael Taylor, Terry Bobo, Jonathon Bryson, Mike Austin, and Tim Garner. The Men’s Ministry of Morningside Baptist Church is asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
