Mr. Thomas Edgar Edwards, Sr., age 79, husband of Joetta Thomas Edwards of 1426 Monarch Hwy., Union, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Edwards was born in Union, April 10, 1942, a son of the late Joseph Carl Edwards and Elvie Levesay Edwards. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing. Mr. Edwards was a veteran of the US Navy and the South Carolina Army National Guard. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Thomas E. Edwards, Jr. and wife Lynn of Union and Joseph M. Edwards and wife Tiffany of Pauline; two sisters, Sally Epps and Judy Hagan both of Union; two brothers, Harry Douglas Edwards, Sr. of Inman and Gene Arthur Edwards, Sr. of Union; seven grandchildren, Leah E. Craft and husband Matthew, Jordan Alyssa Bridges and husband Jeremy, Rebekah Kayce Robertson and husband Corey, Kami Elizabeth Pavlovic and husband Todd, Arron Joseph Edwards, Thomas Storm Edwards and fiancée Makenzie Faith Grady, and Levi Hayes Edwards; three great-grandchildren, Tobias Malachi Craft, Rinoa Eden Edwards and Kathryn Everley Robertson. Mr. Edwards was predeceased by three sisters, Lucille Wylie, Mildred Snowden, and Revia Queen and two brothers, Emmet Edwards and Joseph C. Edwards.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Dean, Pastor David Lewis, and Rev. Johnny Epps. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Edwards, Josh Edwards, Harry Edwards, Jr., Gene Edwards, Jr., Storm Edwards, Aaron Edwards, and Levi Edwards.

Mr. Edwards will be carried to his home, 1426 Monarch Hwy., Union, Monday where he will remain until 2:30 PM Tuesday for those wishing to visit the family. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 until 4:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the services.
