Mrs. Vivian Johnson Bradburn, age 99, of 201 Hart St., Union, widow of Hay Fant Bradburn, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
Mrs. Bradburn was born in White Co., AK, a daughter of the late James Claude and Ova Brown Johnson. She was a veteran of WWII having served in the Women’s Army Corp for ten years. She was a member of the American Rosie the Riveter Association.
Mrs. Bradburn and her husband enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. She was a former member of the National Campers and Hikers Association where she served as State Director of Hiking and Biking and served as Southeastern Editor of the National NCHA newsletter. She had formerly worked for Bi-Lo and had volunteered at the voting polls during elections but mostly she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Bradburn attended Tabernacle Baptist Church and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet B. Richter of Union; a son, James William Bradburn of Idaho; a beloved grandson, Ramon Hamilton Richter of Union; an "adopted" daughter, Beth Broom of Union and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bradburn was predeceased by two brothers, George Andrew Johnson, and Abraham Lincoln Johnson.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services.
