Mr. Von Quentin Holland, age 95, husband of Linda Knox Holland of 116 Springdale Dr., Union, passed away, Monday, May 24, 2021 at Heartland of Union.
Mr. Holland was born in Rutherford Co., NC, July 17, 1925, a son of the late Julius and Ethel Duckworth Holland. He was a graduate of Rutherfordton High School and retired as a tax accessor for North Carolina. Mr. Holland was a retired Major with the US Army having served during WWII and the Korean Conflict, and afterward served in Civil Service. He was a member of the Golden Knights paratroopers. Mr. Holland was a member of Crestview Baptist Church where he had served as a Chairman and a Deacon. He was first married to the late Ellise Holland.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 25 years, Linda, are three daughters, Michelle Sinclair of the home, Betty Jo Cutrell and husband Glenn and Peggy H. Willingham and husband Glenn both of Greenville, NC; six grandchildren, Jason Cutrell, Lauren West, Craig Willingham, Jeremy Sinclair, Jacob Sinclair and Emma Sinclair and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Holland was predeceased by two brothers, Van Holland and Almon Holland.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 28, 2021 at Crestview Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Josh Freeman. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery, 140 Church Street, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
