Wayne Henderson

            Mr. Wayne “Big Henny” Henderson, age 69, husband of 50 years to June Bogan Henderson of 469 Bogan Rd., Jonesville, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

            Mr. Henderson was born in Union, September 16, 1952, a son of the late V.D. and Dot Gowan Henderson. He was a 1970 graduate of Union High School and was a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Henderson was retired from the US Department of Agriculture.

            A lifelong member of Bogansville United Methodist Church, he served as Chairman of the Administrative Council and Chairman of the Cemetery Committee. He was a member of the choir and a member of the Men’s Club of the church. Mr. Henderson was also a member of the Prudence Masonic Lodge and Son’s of Confederate Veterans – States Rights Gist Camp. He was an avid Clemson fan and loved the outdoors.

            Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Mica Duncan and husband Tripp, Mindy Tyler and husband Michael and Misty Paschall all of West Springs; a sister-in-law, Jackie Henderson of West Spring and a brother-in-law, Rodney Bogan of Spartanburg. He is survived by nine grandchildren, Jacob Holt, Camryn Tyler, Conner Tyler, Tanner Duncan, Hannah Paschall, Mason Henderson, Austin Paschall, Addie Duncan and Tayley Tyler; two nieces, Emily Gibson and husband Michael of West Springs and Lindsay Bogan, and a nephew, Taylor Bogan both of Spartanburg. Surviving are also several aunts and uncles including a special uncle, Jimmy Gowan and wife Dianne of West Springs and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by a son-in-law, Monty Paschall and his brother, David Henderson.

            The family would like to say a special Thank You to his nurse, Paige Turner and Dr. Tondre Buck for their care of Mr. Henderson and his family during his illness.

            Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Jue 18, 2022 at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Wally Culp and Rev. Angelia Price. Burial with Masonic Rites will be held in the church cemetery.

            Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the church prior to the service.

            Active pallbearers will be Ray Vinson, Tim Stevens, Clay Lawson, Jeff Lawson, Kenny West, Ben Hyatt, Roger Hyatt and Sean Paschall.

            Members of the Prudence Masonic Lodge, Son’s of Confederate Veterans, and employees of USDA are asked to sit in a group.

            Memorials may be made to Bogansville United Methodist Church, 4052 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353.

            The family will be at the home, 469 Bogan Rd., Jonesville.
