Wayne Trantham Obituary

            Mr. Wayne A. Trantham, age 83, of 107 Longview Heights, Union, widow of Margaret Joan (Peggy) Lee Trantham, passed away, Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

            Mr. Trantham was born February 14, 1937 in Union, a son of the late William Thomas Trantham and Gaynelle Franklin Trantham.  He was a graduate of Union High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College.  Mr. Trantham retired as a Lieutenant from the South Carolina Department of Corrections.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

            Surviving are a daughter, Andrea Elaine Trantham of Asheboro, NC; five sons, Michael Wayne Trantham and wife Karen of Union, Charles Anthony (Tony) Trantham and wife Cindy of Foley, AL, Jeffrey Alan Trantham and wife Terri of Union, James Reese Trantham of Pensacola, Fl, and David James Trantham and wife Angie of Little Mountain; three sisters, Bobbi T. Barber, Andrea T. Whitener, and Linda T. Betenbaugh all of Union; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Fouché and Douglas Fouché; a sister-in-law, Terri Fouché; eight grandchildren, Chaz Trantham, Caleb Trantham, Michael Trantham, Lance Trantham, Elexus T. Lail, Destiny Trantham, Dustin Trantham and Kyle Trantham; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Trantham was also survived by someone very special to the family, Rebekah Davis Ferre, affectionately referred to by both Wayne and Peggy as “my other daughter”. He was predeceased by four sisters, Sara T. Belue, Mary T. Hodge, Myrtle T. Bolton and Rebekah T. DeBruhl and two brothers, Tommy Trantham and William "Billy" Trantham.

            Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Brother Joe Adams. 

            Active pallbearers will be Dustin Trantham, Kyle Trantham, Lance Trantham, Allen Whitener, Daryl DeBruhl, Paul Barber and Chuck Barber.

            The family is at the home of her son Jeff and Terri Trantham, 218 Westmead Rd., Union, SC 29379.
