Mr. William Barksdale “Willie” Prince, age 81, husband of Brenda Boulware Prince, of 127 Dana Tara Lane, Buffalo, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his home.
Mr. Prince was born February 12, 1940 in Union, a son of the late Violet Russell Prince and Charlie Prince. He was retired as a Supervisor from United Merchants Buffalo Plant after 37 years. Mr. Prince was retired from the SC National Guard. He was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir and the Tom Alexander Sunday School Class. Mr. Prince was a member of the Buffalo Fire Department. He had previously delivered papers for the Union County News and the Spartanburg Herald Journal.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Donna Bumgarner and husband Glenn of Whitmire and Rhonda Sanders and husband Russ of Buffalo; a son, Allen Raines and wife Lee of Fayetteville, NC; four grandsons, Tyler Raines, Zach Raines, Jeremy Bumgarner and a special grandson, who was “his rotten apple,” Codey Sanders and wife Kelsey Sanders of Buffalo; and one great-grandchild, Tyson Raines of Union. He was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Carter and a sister, Martha Gault.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon. Burial with military honors will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Randall Liner, Dennis Russell, Codey Sanders, Randy George, Scott Sherbert, Robert Williams, John Martin, and Allen Raines. The following are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort, members of the Tom Alexander Sunday School Class and the nurses and staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the services at the church.
