Willliam Michael Strahley

Mr. William Michael Strahley, age 76, husband of Doris Lanford Strahley of 105 Santee Cir., Union, passed away, Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Strahley was born July 18, 1944 in Union, a son of the late Henry Earl Strahley and Nina Betenbaugh Strahley.  He was a graduate of Union High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina Columbia where he lettered in Tennis.  Mr. Strahley retired from the Department of Health and Environmental Control and had previously worked as a Special Needs Teacher with the Union County School District.  He was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 40 years are a son, Michael Bryan Strahley Carr and wife Jody of Statesville, NC; two sisters, his twin-sister, Becky Strahley Vinson of Greenville and Susan Strahley Glaser and husband Charles of Union; his nieces and nephews, Susan Faire Moss, David Vinson and wife Jean, Eric Vinson and wife Rita, Caroline Shelby Moss, and Lola Ann Vinson.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by Chaplain Brian Redding and Rev. Charles Hutcherson.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery.  Due to the current health crisis, the family ask that those in attendance to please follow all COVID-19 guidelines, by wearing mask and social distancing.

 The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Crescent Hospice for their love and care of Mr. Strahley.
