Mrs. Yvonne Revis Childers, affectionally known as Dion, age 86, of 1322 Main St., Buffalo, widow of Irvin Childers, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Union Medical Center.
Mrs. Childers was born May 12, 1937, in Union, a daughter of the late Paul Revis and Ruby Bentley Revis. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from the South Caroline Department of Corrections. Mrs. Childers was a faithful member of Buffalo Methodist Church and had served in various positions within the Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Childers was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter, Paula C. Wright and husband Keith of Buffalo; a son, Richard Childers and wife Alicia of Bennettsville; four grandchildren, Dona Nena Mullinax and husband Phillip, Nikki Childers Gowdy and husband Charlie, Ross Childers and wife Hannah, and Alana Dion Newton and husband Kyle; two great-grandchildren, Reed Davis and Wimberly Gowdy; and a niece, Denise Phipps and husband Jackie of Buffalo. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dona Nena Childers and a brother, Ernest L. Revis.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Buffalo Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Kevin Dalton. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Tim Harrison, Dale Lanford, Robbie Littlejohn, Jackie Phipps, Russ Sanders, Codey Sanders, and Doug Dochterman.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of Union Medical Center, Spartanburg Regional Hospice and ProMedica Nursing Home for their love, support and care given to their mother during her illness.
